2005 Hanshin Tigers!

Being from Canada, I was never really a baseball fan until last night.
Yes, I am a Band Wagoner. It's never too late. Go Tigers go!

The Hanshin Tigers won their second Central League pennant in three years. Baseball is arguably the most popular sport in Japan.

Traditionally the crowd will chant out each players name and people who are wearing their jersey will jump off the Dotonbori bridge. Due to the high levels of pollution in the river, walls are put up to prevent people from jumping in.

It was a wild scene in Osaka as people were chanting and singing the famous Tiger’s "Rokko Oroshi" theme song all night.

Of course one bad apple had to ruin the fun for everyone. But nothing close to anything like European football hooligans, North American looters or The Canucks 94 Stanley Cup riot.
