Kyoto Station
Kyoto JR station has to be one of the most futuristic rail stations in Japan. Once you step off the train and on to the platform, it feels like you have arrived at a space station rather than a train station. Something the future was suppose to look like from the 80s. I guess the future has arrived. I didn't see Darth there.
Since Kyoto is an ancient city with a 1200 year history and was the capital of Japan, there was a lot of debate and protest by local residences and businesses a modern train station would ruin the landscape.

that might have been me walking through that glass hall way you can see in the Kyoto station. I had to use the bathroom in that hotel.. yes, that's the hallway of a pretty nice hotel at the Kyoto Station....
